Jesus through his birth on Christmas Day brought light into our dark world and redeemed each one of us with his infinite love! Every one of us is like a bright star, born with a specific mission to light up the world.
On the morning of 25th December 2025, the “Christmas Star” initiative began for the second year. The many visitors to the Schoenstatt Shrine in Mulgoa were invited to write their names and the names of those they wished to pray for on a coloured star and hang it on the tree.
Within the first hour the tree was quickly transformed into a very colourful display. After the 11am Christmas Day Holy Mass there was a flood of people in and around the shrine taking advantage of this very simply yet attractive initiative. Many people were taking photos as they hung up their stars or were taking family photos in front of the beautifully decorated tree.
Throughout the year Sr. Mary Louise had cut up over 600 stars which were quickly gone in just the first few days of Christmas. People became very inventive, resorting to writing their names on the paper contribution slips from the Shrine and hanging them also on the tree. The sisters promised to pray for all the people whose names were written on a star and have done so during this Christmas period.
